Give us a hoon on your cask

One night (some believe it was Sunday night) we attempted to play strip Guitar Hero at Matt's flat, a.k.a. The Crackhouse. What this meant was playing songs on the 'expert' setting and, if you failed the song, removing an item of clothing. I am not very good at Guitar Hero, at all, in fact it seems like a mystical beast that can only be tamed by a leap of consciousness (a leap down, maybe, maybe up)... so I was the first to lose my shirt. In fact, I was the only one to lose my shirt.

Shirtless Tim did not seem to inspire the others. We struck out to Dominos (some kind of ridiculous Hawaiian pizza special, the things of legend) and discovered some kind of moss growing on the rusting hulk of a corolla. It looked like a miniature version of some grassy knoll from which pixies would look out at Elizabeth St, hold hands and think of their hatred of garden gnomes.

This is Gear Homestead, site of Monday's reception. Quite nice really.

Emily, thug for life.

After arriving in Wellington on Saturday, I walked down Cuba St thinking 'wouldn't it be so Wellington if I saw someone I knew right now' and God looked down and God saw and it was good, cos I ran into Emily within the next 15 metres. Emily had just had to put down her 20 year old cat (that's an old cat, right? That's like the Energiser Cat. That's the George Burns of cats), and so was sporting shades. I can understand her being teary-eyed. God had put her cat down.

This is the view from my friend Conrad's flat in Roseneath. In all honesty, Roseneath is a touch too far away from town for my liking - up a mighty hill, with a rope swing - but if I could sit in my lounge reading a book, and gaze upon that resplendent vista, slugging up the hill with my weekly veges might not seem so thankless.

On the way to Coutney's flat, we found a shop dedicated to maps!

Then we found a picture of Chelsea in the flat. That was spooky.

I have to say, despite there being no really HUGE partying nights in Wellington (something about Western Judeo-Christian tradition), I was very well looked-after by my friends. It wasn't going to be the easiest weekends and they were just really cool.

SEE YOU GUYS SOON.
